This might have to be the last romance novel I pick up for a while.  My boyfriend helped me pick this one out because he liked the description on the back.  Hopefully it won't be super cheesy.

So, Angel's Blood is about hunters, and vampires, and angels, and archangels.  It's a lot.  I'm not going to lie.  Elena, the main character, is a vampire hunter, and the love interest is the archangel Raphael.  She's been hired to hunt, and I feel he's just been hired to get in the way.

It was an interesting take on vampire creation.  But, I'll take my traditional vampires any day, thank you very much.

The relationship between Raphael and Elena was a little uncomfortable at times, and seemed forced.  It didn't really seem like she wanted him, and he just kept pushing and pushing.  I get the idea of tension, and suspense, but I'm not into the whole power-play, pressured relationship thing.  It didn't seem natural.

The plot was okay, and I'd recommend it to people who enjoy paranormal romance novels.  But I guess my Twilight days are long gone.

I picked this one up deliberately at the bookstore this time (no lame drug store excuses).  I can't handle the cover on this one... HAH!  It just makes me blush and titter like a school girl.

When You Dare is the first novel in Lori Foster's Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series.  This one is about a mercenary, Dare Macintosh, who gets hired by Molly Alexander to track down the person who had her kidnapped.  Romance ensues, etc.

So, I'm just going to get this out of the way...  His name is Dare.  Come on.  And Molly Alexander is a romance writer.  But cheese aside.

The plot was okay.  I felt like their romance was believable, especially after what Molly went through with her kidnapping and the fact that Dare was her savior.  Overall, a harmless romp.  I just can't get away from these covers.  They crack me up.

I was actually waiting in line at the drug store when I saw this embarrassing cover starting back at me.  It's been so long since I've read a straight up romance novel, I figured why the hell not?!  I need more variety on here!

No Limits is part of Lori Fosters Ultimate series featuring MMA fighters.  I guess, unfortunately (Or fortunately? I don't really know...), romance novels just make me laugh.  I understood the whole basic plot and the drama of it all.  But let's just face it.  Sometimes they're cheesy as all hell.

Anyway... The lead male is a UMA fighter, Cannon Colter (the alliteration kills me), and he's blindsided (even though they already knew each other) by the coquettish Yvette Sweeney.  They have to deal with their old drama and new drama, all while trying to take care of a house/business.

Names are important to me in books, and these aren't my favorites.  But the overall story is compelling.  I'm debating snagging the rest of the series at some point but we'll see.

I got this book as a Christmas present from my mother.  So excited to start.

Tell the Wolves I'm Home is a sparkling story about a girl and her unwavering love for her artist uncle.  It's the story of his passing, and her grief and loneliness.  It's is also the story of her finding healing through her family, and a friendship she never knew she needed.

June's struggle with the loss of her uncle was brutal and realistic.  While this book has sad moments, but had an underlying sweetness.  It deals with coming together and finding family again after everything seems to fall apart.  Heartbreaking and bittersweet.

The Firebird by Susanna Kearsley

My boyfriend fed my book addiction once more with this addition to my Susanna Kearsley collection.  So far, I've read The Winter Sea, and The Shadowy Horses, both of which were fantastic!

This one is about a girl with the ability to see the history of objects, and the stories of their owner, just by touching them.  I can't wait to get started!

The Firebird is another triumph for Susanna Kearsley in the historical fiction genre.  This switches seamlessly between past and present to weave a tale of love, and courage through generations.  Nicola is a strong female main character, and I loved how old favorite characters from Kearsley's previous novels made appearances.

It was a lovely journey, and was another classic Susanna Kearsley novel.  If you haven't picked one up, I highly recommend it.

I got this while I was out with my boyfriend, and I'm so excited to start reading it.  A young man wakes up after a night of hell raising, only to find out he's grown horns... and developed some special abilities...

This book was entertaining, creepy, and eye opening.  It had some sad moments, and lovely complex characters.  Iggy Perrish is the ultimate anti-hero.  You cheer for him, pity him, and hope he finds peace after his love's untimely murder.

It's different from anything I've ever read, and had an excellent mixture of drama, wit, and thrills.  A fantastic tale of revenge!  It was the whole package!

I picked this one up while baby book shopping for a friend's newborn.  Looks thrilling!

It's been a while since I've read a book that really caught me by surprise.  I loved and hated all of the main characters at the same time, which is awesome!  I found myself rooting for the both Amy and Nick for different reasons.  Did he kill his wife... didn't he...?  And who hasn't at one time tried to be "Cool Girl" to get a man's attention.

I know there is a film that was just released, and I personally think the casting was exceptional!  Ben Affleck fits my ideal Nick, butt chin and all!  And Amazing Amy look practically perfect in every way as Rosamund Pike.

This story was engaging, well planned, and executed impeccably.  A must for anyone who loves a good thriller.  It was indeed a thrill!
