Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

TITLE:  Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles #1)
AUTHOR:  Garcia, Kami and Stohl, Margaret
GENRE:  Fiction/Supernatural
DATES READ:  3/22/2013 - 3/27/2013
MY RATING:  3/5

Overall, the plot of Beautiful Creatures was good, albeit some parts were definitely predictable.

I liked Lena's characters because she actually appeared to have a brain, and didn't just fall for a guy because he was interested in her.  Dare I say, she actually waited until she liked him?  I also love the idea of the majority of the YA book being from a male's perspective.  It was a nice change!

However, the love story seemed a little forced.  Cue the "I love her" because "she's different".  Heaven forbid!  If that was all it really took for someone to be interested and fall in love.

At least it took them a while to fall in love.  That was believable.  Now, I guess I should see the movie.  The characters don't really look like how I pictured them, but we'll see how it goes.

Will read and write soon!

Zombie Apocalypse: Fight Back by Stephen Jones

TITLE:  Zombie Apocalypse:  Fight Back
AUTHOR:  Jones, Stephen
GENRE:  Fiction/Zombies
DATES READ:  2/23/2013 - 3/22/2013
MY RATING:  2/5

It took me almost a month to read this book because it was a little confusing.  The novel was definitely unique (a compilation of newspaper clipping, instruction manuals, and message logs).

It followed the spread of the zombie apocalypse from London all the way to the US.  Overall, it took a lot of effort and concentration to read, and it was extremely difficult to track all of the characters.

However, the plot development was unique and interesting to try and follow.  It guess I would recommend it to science fiction readers or people who generally like weird stuff.  :-)

Will read and write soon!
