The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown

TITLE:  The Weird Sisters
AUTHOR:  Brown, Eleanor
GENRE:  Fiction
DATES READ:  4/6/2012 - 4/22/2012
MY RATING:  4/5

The plot development for this novel was slightly slow.  However, the third person inner dialogue was fascinating!  This book showcases the complications of sisterhood beautifully.  Even though I don't have a sister of my own, this book helped me to experience the ins and outs, ups and downs.

I loved the setting of a small town (much like where I grew up).  I also enjoyed the flashback elements.  This book drives home how our childhood experiences shape who we become as adults.  With the Shakespearean quotes, and charming descriptive passages, this novel is truly a gem.  One of my favorite quotes is as follows (Brown, Eleanor; The Weird Sisters; pg. 78):

"Because despite his money and his looks and all the good-on-paper attributes he possessed, he was not a reader, and, well, let's just say that is the sort of nonsense up with which we will not put."
